I’ve been eagerly waiting for the Garth newbie for months now so needlessly to add completely forgot it was released yesterday.
First impression? “More post-coital and less post-rock” Garth sings on “Straight In At 101” proving there is nobody better at self-refernce right now this second. It’s a terrific rage against the music scene and sex at the same time with a cool Talking Heads reference thrown in.
Otherwise, the songs we know, title track “Romance Is Boring”, “The Sea Is A Good Place To Think About The Fuure” and “These Are Listed Buildings” are all as good I’ve claimed they are and I’ll get to the rest as time goes by.
