1. Black Gold – Esperanza Spalding -This gives new jazz a good name: it seems to circle smooth jazz but with a faster set up and a longer fade out, maybe as if she has been listening to Erykah Badu A lot. Ps That's a good thing.

2. Big Mouth – Santigold – In many ways, Santigold is indeed a M.I.A. knock off. But in this way she isn't: her use of back up harmonies is better and her rhythms are less original but more complex.

3.The Music Of The Night – Andrew Lloyd Webber – From the 25th year anniversary, this is a note perfect version up to and including the abrupt ending.

4. Cosmic trip – Air

5. I Fink You Freaky – Die Antwood – Awww, a love song!!!

6. Looking For A Kiss – New York Dolls – Live last year, best believe David still means luv, L.U.V.

7. Year Of The Tiger – Fucked Up – I am still getting used to this 15 minute work, but it may be the song to beat in 2012.

8. These Days – Dr. Dog – Always a bridesmaid band, but this is a pretty damn great alt rocker.

9. Out The Door – Ben Kweller – I once sah him tongue kiss Conor Oberst. Just saying.

10. Free Your Mind And Your Ass Will Follow – Funkadelic – So I freed my mind but my ass still had a hard time keeping up.
