MFT 2-3-12

1. Time Is Money (Bastard) – Swans – These guys can get too far out their even for my tastes, a rambunctious, beat heavy slam. And this is more of the same, but at least the drum triplicates are a nice hook and the words are chanted but not so harsh you want to run away and hide.

 2. On The Run – Kaiser Chiefs – I've been a fan at least since I caught em opening for Green Day a coupla years ago if not even earlier, when Lily Allen was covering em for Mark Ronson. Having said that, it took years for this?  By the numbers Brit rock.

3. Lullaby – Leonard Cohen – Hans Christian Andersen shaggy dag stories put to his deep voice croon to some terrified baby, with a coupla chick singers in the background. Nice harmonica.

4. Kersed – Ceremony – The future of punk is somewhere in these grooves. The question is, can hey sell it on stage?

5. One Part, Two Part -The best song on his dreadful new album is a simple enough country rocker which kinda writes itself.

6. Summertime Sadness – Lana Del Rey – Gloomy little thing, isn't she?

7. Boring Girls – Pissed Jeans

8. Steady My Heart -Kari Jobe – Wow, pretty damn painful.

9. Feel The Sound – Imperial Teen – The intro suckers you in and the chick singer keeps you there.

10. Bad Girls – OK, I'm ready for more.
