1. We Belong – Pat Benatar – A great song no doubt, but man, all these years later it sounds like reprocessed cheese: the drums are tinny, the synth an irritant and no, Sir, it does not rock. Ripe for a remake. I recommend Swift kickstarts it.

2. …And Ever – Titus Andronicus – Possibly my fave track of the century, up to and including the spoken word outro.

3. Fountains Of Sorrow – Jackson Browne – If you've been through it, this can cut you. "Looking through some photographs I found inside a drawer, I was taken by a photopgraph of you, there was one or two I know that you'd have liked a little more, but they didn't show your spirit quite as true…" The rest of the song explains the wounded and now healed spirit, but that snapshot of a snapshot moves me a lot.

4. Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites – Skrillex – I loooooove the scream cum hook on this song.

5. You Da One Dave Aude Club Remix – Rihanna – This song is great anyway but this remix is enormous: essenially it is two distinct music files playing off each other.

6. God Loves Us – Guided By Voices – Obstreperous and over serious.

7. Going To Hell – Kathleen Edwards

8. Until The Night Is Over – M83 – Pre-Dream, a dreamy piano based ballad.

9. Maybellene – Chuck Berry – Timeless rocker of cars and infidelity.

10. Hot For Teacher – Van Halen – Apparently, they didn't have my history teacher, The legendary Mr. Dodders.
