Singles Going Steady, Week of January 2nd, 2012

In theory "Singles Going Steady" is a weekly round up of new album releases, but in practice there has been hardly a single new release since December 19th, which means when I get round to it (late, as always), it is just a mishmash till, well, hopefully till next Sunday. till then…

Daily Mail – Radiohead – Pretty good single does away with the computer trappings and becomes a straightforward blues rocker. Grade: B+

A Reality Tour – David Bowie – Yeah, if I knew it'd be his last tour I would have gone and seen it. Lotsa material, around a third absolute crap. Grade: B+

Bangarang EP – Skrillex – Former punk rocking lead singer, reinvents himself as dance DJ and changes the world. Grade: B

Purple Naked Ladies – The Internet – Electronic r&b band from the Odd Future gangs new record label. Not bad, nasty enough in places. Grade: B

OK, I know there isn't much here and just outta respect for Odd Future I might give The Internet a closer listen,. But it isn't my fault the world of music is dead. This is ridiculous How can you put the music biz to sleep for more than three weeks? Let's get on with the rest of our lives, folks.
