Digital Spy's Top 5 David Bowie Songs:
1. Life On Mars
2. Heroes
3. Ashes To Ashes
4. Let's Dance
5. Starman
Comment: "Life On Mars"? Sure, why not. Digital Spy's readers voted it David Bowie's best song on Saturday in celebration of his 65th birthday and I neither agree nor disagree. It's a great song and if you think that is his greatest moment, so be it.
It is really hard to judge. I mean, besides Bowie himself, what is the similalrity between "The Bewlay Brothers" and, say, "TVC-15"? What, besides my mood at any given moment, makes one Bowie song that much better than another.
And, really, speaking of finite talemt, did anybody dig Reality or Earthling THAT MUCH. When your best song in a decade is a Jonathan Richman cover, where does that leave the great songwriter? Retired.
