There is no such thing as originality anymore.
A while ago, the band Breathe Carolina had a contest for their fans to make a music video for their song "IDGAF". Now, one of the worst bands in existence, We Are The In Crowd, is copying the idea.
The contest requirements are that the fans make and enter an original music video for their song "Rumor Mill", see how many views they can get, and they win a prize.
The top five finalists get a signed copy of WATIC's CD. The video with the most views overall will receive the grand prize: signed Best Intentions CD, Guaranteed To Disagree EP, Best Intentions shirt, Best Intentions wristband, and 10 original one of a kind signed Polaroid photos that we’ll be taking over the next few weeks.
To be honest, I'm not exactly sure why it's the video with the most views; anyone can push their video, no matter how good or bad it is, to be watched by a lot of people. With BC's contest, the band chose the best one. This one is literally just a popularity contest.
This contest doesn't seem to really make much sense. First, I can't really imagine they have that much of a fanbase to get even a few contest entries, and people are going to realize that it's not a matter of how good the video is, but how many people see it.
