Let us take a moment to celebrate the big day of our future writer in wishing a Mighty Happy Birthday to Shea Leibowitz son of our very own Todd.
It is with great honor that I present.. A four year olds party play list (let them eat CAKE!)
1- Head Shoulders Knees and Toes.. (especially for the parents this will cause moms to shoot ‘ the look’ to the dads cuz they wont participate)
2- Boom Boom Pow- cuz this is what Nerf bats were really made for
3-Hokey Pokey -seriously that’s what its all about
4- Jet – Well cuz this is his jam!
5- Disturbia- this will give you and your guests a great opportunity to jump on the furniture and while the parents put things in order you can snag some extra cheese doodles! BONUS!
6- Cotton Eyed Joe. Play this one late in the day. Make all the dads do it. This I promise you will leave lasting memories that will rise to the surface every time your dad pulls the ‘Im cooler than you” card when you’re a teenager. Your mind will go back to watching him do this dance and its the great equalizer. Also gives mom a chance to leave the room or better take videos to email to friends
7- Crazy Train- here its really important that you jump up on the coffee table and do a mean air guitar and you and dad can share the “AY AYY AY” vocals.. its a bonding dude thing
8- Thats Life- A bit of Sinatra is mandatory. This guys croon is pretty sweet and if you tuck a few Sinatra tunes in your memory bank when its time to ‘woo’ the chicks you got an ace in the hole. Chicks dig ol blue eyes
9- Fruit Salad- now you could very well be ‘done’ with the Wiggles but I’m a grown up and this song is pretty fun. I don’t go singing it or go to Wiggles shows but all in all its worth it plus its delish.
10- Happy Birthday.. go with the classic here. No revamp no cover tune. Strictly friend and family belting out the words cuz rumour has it the louder its sung the greater the love they have for you. So the 1 kid at the party SCREAMING it.. totally digs you (honest!) Here’s another tip. CONCENTRATE during that song. Wishes can come true but its in the art of the telepathy. and for Gods sake don’t spit on the cake and AIM at the flame.
Happy Birthday my dear. And as a card carrying member of the adult population I promise you from the depth of my heart to do my very best to improve this world for you so when its time for you take over- its a more peaceful more beautiful and more compassionate place. <3
