Say Anything released a new song called "Burn A Miracle" and I'm not sure how I feel about it.
I'm a huge Say Anything fan, but I'm iffy about this tune. Bemis' voice almost saves the song, and the instruments feel weak and forced. The lyrics don't really hold a special meaning and there's not even a hook. The song isn't absolutely terrible, because Say Anything can never be anything less that okay. However, it's by no means extraordinary.
SA has a few songs that kind of feel as though they have little to no emotion, until you sit and truly listen and analyze the lyrics, but this song is an all time low. It's still good and I like it, but by no means would I even get it as a free download if the opportunity arose. I'm pretty disappointed. Say Anything hasn't really released anything too substantial in a while, and this song doesn't really show how truly talented they are. I wonder what they've been doing all this time.
The instruments are cliche, overdone, and don't really show a hint of enthusiasm. Minus a few lines, even Max Bemis' voice isn't even that passionate. It's pretty mediocre.
Say Anything needs to get their act together, or a miracle.
