MFT 12-20-11

1. One – Bee Gees – One last time, in 1989, the Bee Gees did it for old times sake, a song as great as anything they had written in 1979. The production by the way is more 21st century.

2. Drivin' Me Wild – Common and Lily Allen – before T-Pain (and after Wiley) discovered it, Common was mixing the sweet and sour of Allen sampling ona track to great effect.

3.Over My Dead Body – Drake

4. Beers Ago – Toby Keith – As good a way to figure out the passing of time as any.

5. I Love you Because – Jim Reeves – Legendary figure brought a pop sensibility that wasn't cosmopolitan.

6. Toxic – Britney Spears – Sure, it's better when you add ODB to the mix, so it is good to remind yourself it was pretty awesome to start with.

7. Goodbye To England (Covered In Snow) – Laura Marling – I have no idea how I missed this the first time round; an instant classic.

8. My Winding Wheel – Ryan Adams – Laura covered this during the second set at mcKittrick, leaving me to wish I had seen both.

9. Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) – U2 – baby please, baby pleasem baby pleaaaaze….

10. The Bare Neccessities – Brian Wilson – From the best natured album of the year.
