The Lost Children – Disturbed – Heavy heavy metal by a band who have been doing it over a decade and have nothing left to offer but more of the same. Fortunately, generic Disturbed is pretty good. Grade: B
Time Machine Live 2011 – Rush – If you had a time machine, why on earth wiuld you visit these dreadfull proggers? Grade: D
The Life And Death Of Plea For Purging – Plea For Purging – POD, they ain't. But within the limits of Christian hardcore, indeed any hardcore, they have a lead singer who seems to be calling to God from the middle of the material world. Grade: B+
Smoke Ring For My Halo – Kurt Vile – After that, "I sold my song for a commercial to buy diapers for my baby daughter" comment, we better watch what we say about Kurt, right? Indie folk by a good writer who could use a little more shading. Grade: B
The Div – Pac Div – West coast old school, sometimes with killer samples. Grade: B
The Vision – Joker – Ambient electronica. Grade: B
Crazy Clown Time – David Lynch – For a great movie director, Lynch is out of his element on this electronic mess of an album. Grade: C
Wicked Game – Il Divo – Will somebody please stop these guys. Two tenors, two baritones, lay waste to their operatic pop landscape. Leave singing Andrew Lloyd Webber uber-operas, as they do on a "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" that makes Madonna sound like Patti Lupone. Grade: D
Tumble – Laura Veirs – Cut, original kids songs. Makes sense if you have a kid. Grade: B
