The overnights are in and AI did a ridiculous 29.9 Million Viewers that while 2% lower than last year are unheard of for anything other than specials the Oscars (which it would beat) and the Superbowl (which it wouldn’t beat).
The best AI has ever done for an premiere is 37.4 Million in 2007, that is a lot of loss 21.1%. And it will be interesting to see how the season plays out. But as Mary Magpie told us earlier today, AI has apparently lost the tweens as we speak which suggests that it will never regain its old cachet. It’s new cachet remains similar in at least one way: it is easily the most watched TV Program in the country.
