Two careers which seem to lead to an early death, one is football, the other is rap.
Add the great Jamaican rapper Heavy D to the list, Heavy D brought reggae to hip and to its world takeover . In 1987 he released his first album with the Boyz and by 1989 had crossed right over to the rap charts with the Big Tyme album.
In the 1990s he released solo album after solo but stopped touring entirely, though he had just played live for the first time in years at the BET Hip Hop Awards.
An important rap artists and a pretty big damn star, try "You Ain't Heard Nothin' Yet" from its Amercan songbook opening sample to its riddim and rapping right on the beat.
