Guitarist Justyn Brodsky friended me on Facebook ( feel free to do the same! Just started it up!) So of course as I stalk the request I notice Mr Brodsky is in a band from Brooklyn, instantly think of my kids Shinobi and hit their myspace
And I got a big fat earful of party music, maybe not your dance a thon stuff but rather a neon shoe laced vocal buffet!
Well, I sorta thought they were the Beastie Boys for a second ‘A Sidewalk in Brazil’ is there opening Myspace song… there are maybe 12 singers? There are layers of vocals which I am not familiar with but its somewhat interesting. And I’m in love with the drummer, can someone please get me a drum kit?
Whats confusing me here is the sight lists 4 band members but the whole hood is singing along. And some photos show 5 people so… hmmm… I’m worried a bit that this is and entourage band ‘cmon stage and sing with us!’ or something but ‘Myself and I’ has some covert screaming in the background! Wooooot like a little surprise, one of these people have a freaking killer howl! One of them but I cant figure it out again the layer of vocal is throwing me.
Stranger Strange is too strange vocally BUT Right on Rudy is old school enough for me to grasp hold of it. Guitar intro, killer simply killer. Almost AC/DC like in its starkness. Once the drum kicks in its a free for all!
Watch the vocals as they get a bit screechy sometime but Id check them out live.
This is NOT for the faint of heart. Is there an 80s resurgence going on?
Music just keeps getting more obscure but returns to its old school core. Which is ok by me!
