I made a vow to not insult music in 2010 sound unheard, crashing my own stereotype issue. I actually try not to look at pictures first. But Iman and the Kesha thing.. yeah I intentionally didn’t use the dollar sign- cuz I wouldn’t give her a cent.
Listened to “Tik Tok”, and anyone under 20 Ive spoken to loves it……..and I 50% like it. Musically its really good, Id prefer the karaoke version. But what I cant stomach is the valley girl reading of the rap lyric.Girlfriend keep it in the burbs, its just not your thang. Ok I guess it is, but its not MY thang. Rap needs to be done ‘just so’ or freakin hang it up. Shes as bland as steel cut oats. Her discs should come with a lip gloss and a hair bump and some pro active solution.
I have to say I like thumping of the music but my God she sucks. Her voice doesn’t have the maturity to be bad ass. Seriously go lead the cheer team.
I love 3OH3! they get alot of airplay in my house, my car, my office. Ive seen them live a couple times and I’m always amazed how the lead singer looks like a insurance rep and the ‘other guy’ looks like someone out of a Keanu Reeve movie and they save “Blah Blah Blah”. OK, no they don’t, the mute key does. These are the times when I realize how absolutely diabolically opposite I am from the majority of the world. Where did she come from and what did she do to get there and I don’t really want to know the answer to either question.
What am I missing? Seriously what could it be that makes me hear a High School talent show singer who wins cuz her boyfriend is the captain of the football team or something.
And is this what the ‘average’ teen is listening too? If it is I’m all the more proud of my kid for having some diversity in her repertoire and being a musical leader rather than follower.
Kesha dear.. really, maybe someday, but not now. Not me. I mean I’d totally drive you to the orthodontist and hell maybe Planned Parenthood but I cant take it and I’m sorry.
