On December 2nd in nyc, Taylor Swift will be presented an award as woman of the year, 2011. Hits me that they're a year late but, if not Taylor who else?
21 year old Taylor, who gave $1M to charity this year, has that mix of good girl, big sales, and kind heart that is catnip to advertisers everywhere.
Billboards editorial director Bill Werde claimed: "At the young age of 21, Taylor has already made a major impact on music and has been an incredible role model for aspiring singers/songwriters and young women everywhere. Plus, are you really gonna give it to Katy Perry after that "the driver can't look me in the eyes" contract rider crap? Everybody knows Katy is a spoiled little popstar and nobody takes her seriously. Nicki? Rihanna? Nope, it had to be Taylor.
Personally, I thought Speak Now the album was a big disappointment and I also thought it would not sell as well. I was wrong on the former as it has sold 5 Million copies (down from 6 Million for Fearless but still…)
But and again, if not taylor what else is there?
