What a disappointment. I knew Artist Vs Poet was going downhill when they went through a member change, even including their singer.
They released a new single called "Doin' Alright". It had so much potential. The vocals are lacking in every sense. They're generic and boring and have no versatility at all. It's almost monotonous. There's too much editing on the vocals too, and it's obvious. The use of synthesizers and computerized noise is overused- AVP never had this much. It's the worst song they've ever released.
Not one element of the tune is unique or interesting. It's flat and has absolutely no musical depth at all. It's emotionless. There isn't one instance in the song that makes me think they believe what they're singing and playing, or that they are truly trying. The track feels rushed, lame, and brushed aside. I don't know how they even allowed this to be released under the once fantastic band's name.
I miss the old Artist Vs Poet.
