Shirley Manson and the boys have been in an LA studio since Spring and, according to Spin are weeks away from completely a new album.
In a band statement they announced: "Years' worth of pent-up music came out in some bizarre ways — bleary cell phone memos became real songs, conversations turned into lyrics, and new computer gizmos inspired wicked tangents," the group said in a joint statement. "Ghosts came in, had their say. Everyone brought ideas, and everyone fought their corner. At the end of the day it all gets shoved through the four-way brain filter that is Garbage and it ends up sounding like nobody else. Red feathers and black tar."
How many years? The last time Garbage released an album was 2005. But Butch Vig has managed to tear himself away from clapping himself on the back for Nevermind and here comes a newbie.
Helen Bach is a big fan. Me, well, it goes back to a crap performance at the Beacon sometime late last century and I never really forgave em for it. In the end they came down to a handful of real good songs, "Stupid Girl", "Only Happy When It Rains" -a coupla others.
Still, Shirley Manson is some cool shit…
