Has a song ever just made you want to, I don't know, go deaf and cause an immense amount of destruction?
Some guy named Cody Carson of the band Set It Off covered a song by My Chemical Romance, "Helena".
Yeah, don't quit your day job man.
First of all, he cannot sing. There is not a single redeeming quality in his voice that makes it in the slightest bit decent or tolerable. He sings with almost a Boston accent, mixed with some sort of speech impediment. When he tries to go in his higher register, it sounds absolutely horrendously painfully awful. His mouth is practically closed when he sings, and it is so horrifically annoying.
My vocabulary doesn't extend far enough to truly express how much he ruined this song. It's not that his voice didn't fit it, it's just that his voice doesn't fit anything. He's talentless, except for maybe on the guitar- but those chords are easy enough for anyone to learn.
He took a song with so much emotion and meaning in it and turned into a terrible Christofer Drew pop version.
I don't think I've ever hated a cover more than this one, and I spend about 75% of all my time on YouTube watching covers.
What a joke.
