Gigwise’s Ten Picks For 2010 -plus my snotty comments!!

First Surfer Blood tour with Art Brut, then Marie Lynn picks em for 2010 and now gigwise follows in Marie Lynn’s footsteps.
Gigwise claim their 2009 predictions did well but, really, if your idea of a pick is Florence And The Machine, I wouldn’t cheer myself on too wildly. Still, it’s a lot more enlightened than Rolling Stones picks. Except for Drake -which, cmon guys, Drake? Could you be anymore obvious?
Drake: Wow, that’s having your ear to the ground.
Washed Out: Chill Wave. I’ve never heard of em.
The Drums: These guys are way, way, way overstimated. It is to surf what the Bay City Rollers are to the Jackson 5
Ellie Goulding: Synth pop it sez here. Don’t know her.
Everything Everything: Power pop? Don’t lnow these guys either but I just listened to “My KZ UR BF” and it is like Keane covering Coldplay moments after the acid kicks in.
Surfer Blood: These guys are really great. I’ve only heard “Swim” but it is an echoey guitar pop anthem. I’ve gotta go along with gigwise here.
Hurts: 80s synth pop, it sez here.
Ke$ha: Yeah, hardly a risky call here, right? And just wait till the UK see her live. She was terrific at Jingle Ball.
Delphic: Got their big break on Jools Hollands show. Don’t know em.
Marina And The Diamonds: I think I know em but I don’t know I know em… so how good can they be?
