If they are performing a "Runaway" or a "Nigga Wha', Nigga Who" it does.
If they are performing "H.A.>m>" or "Otis" much less so. this is false bravado at the expense of smart songs. And it is the first faultline I've found in Kanye's musical career (his personal life, less so). As for S.Carter, sure the competent is "nada" but it was much more nada circa Vol. 3
To put it clearly, they are making mistakes and the reason is greed and hubris. From the worst managed presale on earth (the entire tour is stupid: I want Kanye to do a Dark Fantasy tour -I wanna hear it live) to the latest debacle where they are giving ITunes sole sale rights for two weeks before the record goes to stores, thereby buttfucking Best Buy and small businesses.
This is what the folks behind the record day gig had to say "We know that you are busy, and that you put most of your energies into creating great music, but we are writing to you in the hope that you will hear us and take the time to rectify this matter. As representatives of the independent record store music community, we are asking you to allow record stores and music fans equal access to your new album."
Of course, this will have zero effect except maybe they will release an EP of remixes for stores only.
