Thanks to the godlike genius's at Spotify, now when I say I don't like Brit music I can point to every album as proof.
The Mercury Awards (a UK music award apparently for the sake of giving an award) has been announced and I have listened (well, skimmed) the lot. Of those I already know: James Blake irritates me, this isn't PJ's masterpiece but not bad, and Tinie Tempeh attempted a US move that hasn't paid off.Katy B? I've only heard "On A Mission" but I like it fine. Elbow are a bore. Metronomy might be better then I said they were.
Of the others, Ghospoet is pretty out there rapper. All major sound effects and weird distanced raps.
My fave? Anna Calvi is a pretty good big ballad chick. I'll go with her.
