1. Baby Let's Play House – Arthur Gunter – Gunter: "you may go to college, you may go to school, you may get religion baby don't be nobodies fool…" Presley? substitutes a cadillac for religion. One is sexy and one is filled with danger. However, they do both threaten to kill her a verse later (And Lennon would join em a decade later) Still, Gunter? would never call house houski. A perfect example of why Presley (and Gunter) were great. Maybe what Presley gave blues was playfulness.
2. My Baby Left Me – Arhur Crudup
3. The Seed (2.0) – The Roots – After seing em on the Fallon show Tuesday, I may be excused for becoming a fan overnight. But I may not.
4. Love IS Real – Theophilius London – Fully integrated, heavy produced rap soul.
5. Sugarcane – Shaggy
6. The Backson Song – Craig Ferguson – The Backson stops the train in the middle of rush hour, turns off the air conditioning and keeps you there for fifteen minutes without exclamation.
7. Mind Your Manners – Chddy Bang – Sean Kingston without the Reggae.
8. Dez Moines – The Devil Wears Prada – A big hit mostly because of a killer lick in the chorus.
9. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For – U2 – Tens and twenties is my bet.
10.Mayhem – Superheavy – OK dancehall from Jagger's supergroup, the beats too slow and the bas not heavy enough. And too busy. But not bad
