My Fave Tracks, Thursday, July 7th, 2011

1.Tonight Tonight – Hot Chevelle Rae – Another overnight sensation who have been working at it for half a decade and deserve the smash they got with this addictive ode to not giving a shit.

2. Summer Song – The Homecoming Queens – Another great summer song from 20 somethings. The horns are a wonder.

3. Wake Bake Shake – Fidlar – Alyson's new faves are fast, melodic, three chord wonders. They are to amphetamines what Wavves are to marijuana.

4. The Living Proof – Mary J. Blige -Off the soundtrack to a movie I plan to make absolute certain not to touch with a ten foot pole, "The Help" sorta travelling pants for the black rights movement. The song is an unbearable, overblown ballad.

5. Dirt Road Anthem (feat. Ludacris) – Jason Aldean – name checks George Jones before the first couplet is over. How bad can it be?

6. The Little Things – Colbie Collet – Early Colbie for 69 cents on Itunes.

7. Let Love Grow – Dolly Parton – Last song off her new album, is the gentlest of anthems and a real good time.

8. How Long – Ramona – Better live and it is great recorded so…

9. Romance – Wild Flag

10. How Can I Stop – The Rolling Stones – Finally figured out who Keith reminds me of here. Chet Baker.
