Here is the rock critic establishment at work in 2009:
They over rate the pretty good indie rock Animal Collective and ignore band of the year Black eyed Peas and awesome rappers like Freddie Gibbs and Gucci Mann.
They are essentially clueless when it comes to dance and have no idea the bands Mary Magpie love, folks like The Rocket Summer, even exists.
Nobody can be everywhere but if the consensus has to be on any one why not agree upon a true original like Tune-Yards?
