My Fave Tracks, Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

1. Even Better Than The Real Thing – U2 – Sometimes I forget how much I loved this band in the 1990s. That was their glory day, where they were not only the biggest band in the world, they were a running commentary on being the biggest rock band in the world.

2. Love You Like A Love Song – Selena Gomez – The mainstreaming of dubstep continues apace. Dunno you are listening to dubstep? If the bass is heavily syncopated you are listening to Dubstep. Also, I dunno if sex with a Canadian is helping Gomez heaps but when I saw her live she sucked and right now she is pretty good 4 on the floor dance diva.

3. Northern Lights – Johanna And the Dusty Floor – Deep atmospherics could break mainstream; this is how chick singer-songwriters with a bent for the alternative sound today.

4. Suicide – Paul McCartney – The most cheerful song ever written about offing yourself.

5. Sunset Sunrise – Grace Jones – Off her 2009 disco album, and finally to be released in the States, a broody dancer and not the fiddler on the roof one!

6. Pumped Up Kicks – Foster The People – The other songs I've heard but this is catchy modern rocktech.

7. Can you Tell – Ra Ra Riot

8. So Much More = Big Sean

9. You Know I'm No Good (feat Ghostface Killah) – Amy Winehouse – Come back to us,, Amy. You can't leave the charts to fucking Ellie Gould and Adele.

10. Like They Always Do – Total Babes – I wanna get around to these guys this week.
