My Fave Tracks, Monday, June 20th, 2011

1. Blinded By The Light – Bruce Springsteen – Madman, drummers and Indians in the summer… but just before that,a  glorious tenor sax with a series of blasts heralds the arrival of the rest of our rock and roll lifes

2. Like They Always Do – Total Babe – Lo fi, buzzed out melodic triumph

3. So Much More – Big Sean – There is an anger here buried deep. The flow is good, the rap melodic, but the anger bubbles just below the surface. When you "dead" leads to "dedicated" you will be excused for a sneer at those who didn't believe in you. Yeezy got it right.

4. The Real World – Owl City – A better song than "Fireflies", but also less weirdly haunting in a horrifying sort of way.

5. Charlie Brown – The Coasters – Another sax, a different era.

6. I Saw A Ghost Lean – Black Lips – What's with the surfer guitar, dudes? When did you become the Raybeats.

7. Echo – Bad Meets Evil

8. Saturday Night Special – Care Bears On Fire

9. Runaway – Kanye West – One of the great songs of the century, that one finger piano lick is a masterpiece and he rides it for NINE FUCKING MINUTES.

10. The Edge Of Glory – Lady Gaga – Can we begin the backlash to the Lady Gaga backlash? Clarence Clemon's last hurrah is int he charts as we speak
