Sir Paul is a big lad, indeed he is. Big enough to cover 100,000 seats in two days.? Two years after selling 50,000 in the Trii-State area.
I am not sure.
The economy is week, the seats are pricey, figure an average of a c note. He isn't a rare commodity any more. And everybody comes up against it in stadiums.
Who can sell a stadium today?
1. U2 -more or less, the Giants stadium gig wasn't sold out last time I looked but this is their second trip in three years so…
2. The Rolling Stones – Last band standing. If they can get it together for a 2012 tour it will sell out.
3. Bruce Springsteen. if he gives it a break for a coupla years, he can sell out Giant Stadium maybe three nights, probably not 5 nights.
5. Jay-Z. He already did sell out Yankee Stadium with Eminem. If Jigga were to add a Kanye West? Giants Stadium would fall. Maybe for a five day stint, definitely three days.
6. Pink Flloyd – Maybe MAYBE a re-united Pink Floyd.
For headliners? That's it. No more after that
Coldplay, Black Eyed peas, No Doubt, Weezer, Green Day, Rihanna, Beyonce, Brit, Katy, Lady Gaga, Brad Paisley, Kid Rock -none of them are Stadium fillers. Not a chance.
