My Fave Tracks, Saturday, June 11th, 2011

1. Made In AMerica – Toby Keith – There is nothing wrong with patriotism, I'm a patriot myself, but jingoism needs a modicum of wit and self-awareness and this has neither. So you feel like a pussy singing along to the cliched check the label message. But dang if you don't singalonga any way.

2. U Do Now – Brad Paisley – Best song on the newbie is a fine if overblown she left me ballad.

3. Dirt Road Anthem – Jason Aldean – The rap in the middle is absolutely hysterical.

4. Your Kind Of Love – Ronnie Dunn – Country ballad ordinaire by half of  Brooks And Dunn -I don't particularly care for his voice.

5. I Cross My Heart – George Strait – This is a great song because Strait is a brilliant songwriter. As ordinary as any of the other songs above, until he reaches the bridge and even better when he gets to the middle 8 and a beautiful instrumental. A huge hit for Strait back in the day and rightfully so. If you can't get into this country ain't for you.

6. California Wildfire – The Henry Clay People

7. Time Spent In Los Angeles – Dawes – Real good song, maybe good enough to break em thru People are crazy about girls with "special kinds of sadness"

8. Donald trump – Mac Miller

9. 1 + 1 – Beyonce – A The-dream come true

10. History Lesson Part 2 – Minutemen – This column could be your life, just buy what I tell you to
