My Fave Tracks, Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

1. Steppin Up – M.I.A. – I missed this the first time around: dub step ad infinitum and it sounds very Diploish but the distracted rhymed vocal sing song is indelibly M.I.A. A great song, as good as the new Beyonce -which it sounds like.

2. Everybody Loves Me, Baby – Don McLean – May well be his greatest achievement: an indictment as of fascism crouched as a hoot and a holla.

3. Say You Love – Fleetwood Mac – How many times dya think Belle Brigade have listened to this song?

4. Two Against One (feat Jack White) – Danger Mouse and Danielle Luppi – Hey ,my token Danger Mouse and Jack White song in one!

5. Annabel Lee – Stevie Nicks – After years of existing in the netherworld (like the heroine!) of demo land, Stevie finally released it this year. A retelling of the Edgar Allen Poe song and another dead and beautiful girl because the angels are jealous of their love. Pretty damn good .

6. Helpless – Black Label Society – Re-arranged for piano. Why? There you've got me.

7. Friend – Christine McVie – Last sighting and she still had it.

8. Goblin – Tyler The Creator – Misery loves controversy.

9. No Strings – Mayer Hawthorne – Blue eyed soul. very good blue eyed soul.

10. Pinebox – Maynard And the Musties
