Tarcy Thomason, former lead singer of the wonderful Artist Vs Poet, has started a new music project with his brother Tauvy. It's called Project 7 and 8. Besides the unique names of the boys, the little snip of a song they've released so far is also quite different.
It's a raw clip of a small demo called "Worth It". They're just in their bedroom, I presume, and messing around. I got to hear Tarcy's raw passionate voice. Also, his brother has a great voice too. The song reminds me a little bit of Anarbor, but with a twist. It was a pleasant surprise when I heard that Tarcy wasn't going to go and try a completely different sound, he's sticking with what he knows. Incorporating his brother was a good idea because as a musical duo, the two have spot on harmonies, a great tone, and they make a good pair.
However, I have an issue with all of this. Tarcy left AVP to be with his family. His wife and child. All the fans were disappointed, but supportive of his decision because it was for the better. After all, it would've been so difficult to raise a kid and be touring. But now he's in another band? Hypocritical doesn't even begin to describe that. It was a lie that he left for family purposes. He should've stuck to his guns and done what he said he was going to do, not go completely against it. While Im ranting what the heck is with these names?
I'm disappointed with Tarcy, but impressed with his new music project…what a dilemma.
