I’ve been putting off writing my “one of the best albums of the decade” review of Vampire Weekend for a week now. It was the gateway popular hit for all of those Brooklyn based bands that followed it: DP, TVOR, AC -all the players own em a debt. And the three songs (one I’m not ready to deal with yet) I’ve heard off their upcoming sophomore effort Contra have been astounding: especially the violins on “Horchata”. As for the Kid Cudi. “Ottomon” was my least favorite VE till I heard Kid manipulate that rhythm.
