We're like a little community of writers who don't care about grammar, spelling, or getting a bad reputation.
Curse at us, yell at us, bash us and try to bring us down and you'll get nowhere. If you sue us, however, that's another story.
Ten thousand posts have been put up on this site.
Ten thousand
That's unfathomable. That's one of those numbers that you use to exaggerate when telling a story. ("There were, like, ten thousand problems on that test.") This is no story- it's factual and mind blowing. I don't even have one thousand posts on my Tumblr yet.
I think that anyone who writes here can say honestly that we're not only a website or a music blog, but a group of people who appreciate, love, and would die without music. Though we all have different influences, backgrounds, preferences, and tastes in it, we can all agree that it has affected us to such a degree that we have no clue where we'd be without it. I can say truthfully that I have absolutely no clue how I would be able to live without music.
If I had never written for Rock NYC, I wouldn't be able to say I've spoken to my idols and had conversations with them. I wouldn't be able to say I've been to as many shows as I have. And I certainly wouldn't be able to say "Hi, I'm Mary Magpie" and shake a musician's hand with confidence, instead of shaking like a leaf.
Rock NYC has changed us all, and for the better.
