WAKARUSA, the annual music and camping festival in Ozark, Arkansas, which takes place on Mulberry Mountain, is set to kick of festivities this June 2nd, and rocking all weekend until the 5th. In the past Wakarusa has featured the best in the countries jam bands, funk, bluegrass, americana, and electronica. In the past, the attendees of Waka have witnessed the epic performances of The Flaming Lips, Wilco, Widspread, Avett Brothers, STS9, Bassnectar, and Thievery Corp. I know it's in the middle of.. well umm.. Arkansas.. but I'm going, with an awesome crew to say the least. Plus with such a perfect festival lineup in such a perfect location, (swimming in the Mulberry River) its bound to be a highlight of anyones summer adventures.
This year for headliners we have..
My Morning Jacket- With a full summer of touring, and stops at several other top music festivals, I'm pumped to catch these indie rock legends live at Waka.
Ben Harper and Relentless7- Should be a good show, Harper is pretty talented, and if its what you're into.. Gotta check out this show.
Thievery Corporation- One of the grooviest live shows I have ever seen. If you still havnt seen em, you cant miss their set. They also have anew album dropping in June, so we are bound to hear some new jams!
Bassnectar- WOOMP WOOMP WOOMP BOOOM… enough said. If you came for the Bass, Lorin is your guy. I salute my Bass Cadets and the AmBASSadors
Umphreys Mcgee- Famed jam band is still at it after almost 15 years of hippies and festivals.. I'm not hating though, I'll be at their show.
If you don't know, you better ask somebody…. These are the guys that will be headlining this festival in the next 5 years. Seen a few of them before. They ALL rock. And like a Pokemon, you gotta catch em all.
