Gerard Smith Of TV On The Radio Dead At 34

TV On The Radio's bassist Gerard Smith died at the age of 34 from lung cancer.

Gerard had been the bands bassist since their breakthrough album Return To Cookie Mountain, andi s all over Nine Types of Light.

Before the current tour, TVOTR had announced Smith not being able to tour with them, sadly he will never be able to tour again. In retrospect, perhaps some of tge weakness at their Radio City Music Hall might be due to the lack of their bassist. Certainly, a band that funks as TVOTR does, moves on his stomach.
