Richard Nader, the rock and roll revival producer, who brought legions of great late fifties, early sixties popular performers a second career, died Tuesday at the age of sixty-one after a batlle with Parkinson’s disease.
I saw a Rock revival show at MSG’s in the late eighties starring Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richards and though Little Richards was a touch tired that night it was a wonderful night.
There is no 401K in rock and roll: the Hall of Fame keep their money to promote themselves. Nader gave, not just the Lewis’ and the Richard’s, but the Cadilliacs and the Little Anthony’s of the world a retirement fund.
Nader productions will continue under his wife and if you check out richardnader.com you will found Months worth of concerts to come. Apparently, rock and roll will never die.
