How the hell do you follow that post?
Happy Thanksgiving. Heres hoping you were surrounded by people or things you love and that you were thankful for at least one thing. Go on theres gotta be something.
On topic of music I did a bit of searching for songs for this oh so American holiday…
wow… not really a treasure chest unless of course youre in pre school then we got tunes galore.
Adam Sandler saves the day with Thanksgiving Song. I love songs that make no sense other than to rhyme a Sandler rules in doing that. Adam Sandler is a pretty funny guy and although no turkey will EVER cross these lips the song is pretty dang amusing.
So it seems to me that songs are not holiday specific but there are alot of songs that say ‘Thank you’ from Dido (chya remember Dido?) singing “Thank You’ to ‘Be Our Guest;’ from Beauty and The Beast (although I’d prefer BEAT my Guest, by Adam and the Ants). There is ‘Ive Got Plenty to be Thankful For” by Bing Crosby and Thank you by Led Zeppelin. How about ‘Thanks for the Mmrs’ by the now hiatusified Fall Out Boy?
Maybe the sound of this holiday is really from those that over indulged.
I remember back to family Thanksgivings as a kid. I dont recall music, more just the trill of laughter the clink of glasses and crashes from the kitchen.
Whatever you heard today or whatever you felt, I hope you enjoyed the day. You really dont have to have a Norman Rockwell holiday to be a success. Sometime all it takes is the realization that people love and care about you. No matter who they may be
