Ever since AP reported yesterday that the Grammy’s had inducted twenty-five new songs to their hall of fame I have been in search of the names of the nineteen songs not included in AP’s report.
All anybody has is what AP reported.
Nothing on the Grammy’s website.
Billboard, Reuters, MSN, the washington Post, the Stamford Advocate, the Daily Mirror: everybody has the same bloody story. I thought Rock NYC deserved a little more. It took me a day to find it but you deserve the best!! taken off gigwise.com (god bless em) here is the complete list.
As Time Goes By – Dooley Wilson (1944)
Birdland – Weather Report (1977)

Of all these, Armstrong’s Plays WC Handy is one of the greatest albums of all time. I posted about the ten minute version of “St. Louis Woman” six months ago or so and it will always be one of Armstrong’s dozen best best recorded songs.
