If all you know about the great Darlene Love is “Christmas (Baby Please come Home)” -one of the greatest Christmas songs of all time, that should certainly be enough to stamp Darlene Love’s collaboration with Phil Spector into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
But you know “He’s A Rebel” as well.
And what you don’t know? Darlene began her career singing with the Blossonms.
David Hinckley wrote in the New York Daily News “Equally significant, though, she’s even better known in the business for leading one of the two or three most important backup vocal groups in rock history, the Blossoms. They sang behind Elvis Presley, Dionne Warwick, Sam Cooke, the Beach Boys and hundreds of others, filling out songs from “Johnny Angel” to “The Shoop Shoop Song.”
