Fresh on the heels of New York Magazine’s ridiculous rave of the godawful Spiderman: Tun Off The Dark, in which Scott Brown dismisses the music in a musical in ONE PARAGRAPH, and conflicted reports of 1.6M weekly box offices (more than any other Broadway show except Wicked, co-scorer Bono returned to the scene of the crime on Tuesday to see if they had managed to bang it into shape.
I don’t see how Julie Taymor can have shaped it to be honest.
Here is my review from December: http://rocknycnew0115.wpengine.com/2010/12/spider-man-turn-off-dark-preview-21-at.html
I haven’t seen it since and don’t plan to see it again but even though it is a truly terrible musical, will it prove to be enough of an experience to survive?
Didn’t seem possible but apparently they are selling out.
