Sports: I would like to tell the children of America that the entire Deflategate debacle was not an accurate representation of how Sports works. Or at least how justice is meted out. But it is a great example of what to expect the world of adulthood: add money and power in equal parts and stir in arrogance and you get two sides of a sordid story of relentlessly pointless cheating on one side and relentlessly stupidity on the other. Tom Brady’s ability to cover his tracks in deniability his telling Patriot employees to deflate footballs during games so they are easier for him to throw and the head of the NFL Roger Goodell’s pathetic attempts to mete out punishments that aren’t in the rulebooks ended with two laughingstocks saved through power and chronic indifference.
Recorded: It belonged to Travi$ Scott hands down, though youngster’s like rock nyc’s Jacob Fishman might be more willing to hand off to the Wonder Years, in the end The Greatest Generation is a much better album. Fidlar were both good and a little early to be treading water.
Live: A quiet week for me (looks like next week will be as well), I think I am going through withdrawal. I keep on wondering why I am not sitting in the dark Facebooking blurry pictures on my phone.
The Presidency: Finally, the summer of Donald Trump appears to reaching its natural conclusion, manic boredom with even if his announcement that he will only run as a Republican failing to gain traction. Meanwhile, the Democrats have a problem and no solution. Biden isn’t it that’s for sure.
Refugees: What do you do when the population of entire countries are trying to get out of the way of ISIS on one side and Iran on another? How can they be saved? Who can organize it? Who can do it?
