WEEK TWENTY
Television: All endings is my ending, time is so inexorable, so relentless, so infinite but not for me, every change, every wedding, every death, every hope… I haven’t much watched David Letterman in many many years but if ever anyone seemed to be sick of having a Late Night TV show by the end of it, Letterman seemed sick of it. He was ready to leave. But his left is our left and the least sentimental television personality brings out the sentimental in me!
Live: Summerstage’s 30th Anniversary kicked off Monday with a great set by Tedeschi Trucks Band, meanwhile, speaking of growing old, I am blowing off more shows than I’m seeing in 2015.
Recorded: A relentlessly average week, nothing stands out: not Tiesto, not Brandon Flowers, not Paul Weller.
Sports: The Rangers have even upped the series on the way to the Stanley Cup, in an act of unbridled cynicism Isiah Thomas is the President and co owner of the New York Liberty. This is the guy with the 112-216 for the Knicks in his four years at the Garden. The Yanks and the Mets keep losing.
Streaming: Spotify have decided their future now lies in streaming video Well, it worked for Jay Z, right?
Movies: Let’s hear it for yet another men sequel. “Pitch Perfect 2” was not a major bummer but once you’ve said that you’ve said everything.
Personal: My nephew Jeff McColl got married.
This Is The Week That Is: The Who on Tuesday, Ed Sheeran on Thursday.
