Manic Street Preachers To Tour Behind “Everything Must Go”???

manic-street-preachers-everything-must-go-1112-MLC4206170661_042013-FYes folks, Nicky Wire, Manic Street Preacher’s bassist, is saying maybe, possibly, fingers crossed, Manic Street Preachers will follow their epic The Holy Bible with their masterpiece Everything Must Go, for its 20th ANniversary. I don’t think anybody on earth has a problem with the album. I caught em once on the tour and I swear they blew Oasis off stage.

Wire told Gigwise: “Maybe we’ll never do another one. Futurology was such a brilliant summation of who we are, who knows? Everything Must Go is 20 years old next year as well, so we might even just do a couple of gigs doing that. I think we need to replenish our inspiration, you know?”

They need to come to New York with that gig and I mean right now, grab the next plan, because if they could just about sell out Webster with The Holy Bible, it should be pandemonium for Everything Must Go, an album so great it sounds as Brit Pops shining moment and it isn’t even close to being Brit Pop… Ok, maybe Definitely Maybe and Modern Life Is Rubbish before it but that’s it.

While not huge in the States, it was a big big big album in New York and my bet is they could maybe do two nights. I definitely wanna watch it. Listening to it now, it hasn’t aged at all: it always had a mix of big drums and big ideas, with hooks aplenty and a sense of balancing on stilts at the edge of Brit rock. I would love to see this live.
