Maroon Five Are Playing Locally, Here Is The Setlist (Spotified)

Maroon-5-2015-World-Tour

The first time I saw Maroon 5 live, the last night of their It Won’t Be Soon Before Long tour in 2008, I was overhelmed. I consider them a minor league pop rock band, it was before Adam Levine had become Adam Levine, and with his parents and Grandparents in the audience, and with the first last rays of encroaching superstardom upon him, it had something to prove, though only to himself. with five hit songs to salt the mines with, Maroon 5 were everything  pop supergroup needs to be: intelligent, romantic, powerful, and with a frontman capable of seducing an audience.

Six years later, December 2014, I saw Maroon 5 at Jingle ball and they came across as elder statesment of pop, a half smile on their face as they played a handful of hits to an audience not quite their demographic.

So here we are, three months later, and Maroon 5 are performing a skimpy though career spanning 17 song set. Three out of the four songs from V (their latest) are already hits, though the five songs from Overexposed feels like overkill and surely Songs About Jane is over represented as well… though looking at the song titles they may have a point.

What the band are not doing is sticking the newbie down your throat and this promises to be an excellent set, a little self-effacing true, but then as these things go, Maroon 5 are a little effacing themselves. See you Thursday.
