So 24 years after the last time we heard from them, and post the late great Ben Orr, here is the latest the Cars song “Blue Tip” -and it sounds more like the cars then the Strokes sound like the Strokes.
All syncopated rhythms, twitchy, jerky synth and cool as hell vocals, it is good to have em back even if I am not the bigget fan in the world. Saw em live a coupla, once really early, and thought they were a drag.
Still they did no “My Best Friend’s Girl” and “Drive” and if “Blue Tip” had a stronger hook it might sit with the classics. As is, it is the definition of an album track. A real good album track.
