There should be better child labor laws.
It saddens me to watch the rise and fall of preteens and teens. We thrust so much on them we demand so much they get caught up in the wave and crash to the ground.
Then we spit on their fall from grace.
Its an age old issue. But with that should be not have age old wisdom?
How many kids are going to be elevated dropped and rehabbed? How many bald umbrella wielding women are going to drop their infants?
Where are their parents?
Look there is no better feeling than seeing your child succeed.
I cry at EVERY performance and achievement my kid has and there is a ridiculous number of them
But I have turned down opportunities more than I have allowed.
As much as a child ‘wants’ or ‘dreams’ of being famous is as much as a parent should be holding tight to the reigns.
Think back to your High School and Junior High School days. Most of us couldn’t figure out how to work the microwave, yet we want these ‘talented’ children to have careers?
Depression and addictions and insecurities and angst are part of everyday growing up.
Lets shine a big spotlight on it and throw them in a limo.
I’m sorry but I blame parents.
From the moment that kid is born you own it. You guide it you decide for it and just as you wouldn’t allow your child to ride a bike down the stairs of your home (did it, got the bruises) you cant allow them to head into a situation plagued with danger.
This is nothing new yet greed again shoves common sense aside and here is yet another child treated and released. Self admitted to a facility in Illinois for “emotional and physical issues“, Demi Lovato is happily at home with her family in LA. She’s 18 now. She needs to break away for her own good.
Children are not our tickets to the good life. Stop living your life through them and provide them with the security and safety they deserve. They’re not your commodity or investment. They are your responsibility from the moment you arched your back and screamed
