Many years ago I interviewed John Barry for Creem magazine.
It was around the time he worked with the Pretenders on the Bond movie, “The Living Daylights”.
It was a real pleasure discussing Louis Armstrong, Barry had worked with him on “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” and though Armstrong was very fragile at the time, Barry claimed he was a pleasure.
Barry also claimed he, Barry himself, all but wrote the 007 theme amd never got the credit he deserved.
Any way, John Barry, the great film composer, died over the weekend.
