Yesterday Justin Beiber was on the Today Show.
As I prepared for my work day what did I hear?
The shrill of screaming girls. Which lead me to the thought
‘What the hell are they screaming about?’
I cant imagine being a 16 yr old boy and having a mass of girls screaming……
not words but just a scream.
What exactly form of communication is this? What is the response? What is the point?
Is it the human body releasing endorphins or something?
Not only is it annoying its seemingly a cry for what? Attention?
This leads me to wth WOHOO girls, what the hell is the point of that?
Its a battle cry? I may type ‘woot’ but I assure you I don’t scream it.
Justin Beiber as well as countless other celebs cause such stun that human words are unavailable.
We squeal like stabbed seals.
Justin was on to plug his new movie, and even with his back to the window- the screaming girls were barking away. The film helps chronicle his 2 years of madness. Good for him, its the North American dream (he’s Canadian). I would say that his ‘yeeahhh’, ghetto speak was the only thing that put me off.
Hes a kid let it go.
Matt Lauer asking the same ‘what do you miss about your childhood’ stuff.’, canned answers.
Same, same status quo.
But how long can this sustain? Where are the Jonas Brothers?
What happens when the screams end?
There was a moment when a girl was pulled out of the crowd to ask a question and I do have to say that he was more than kind and sincere. He empathised with her nervousness brilliantly.
He is being coached well.
But what about the hundreds of others screaming away?
I guess I will never understand the frenzy of the scream. I rarely even applaud at performances (unless out of courtesy) I have never WOOOOOOOOOOOOO’d any band.. ever.
Yet again, I am in the minority. At least in looking at this situation.
We have all seen the screaming Beatle fans, the swooners and fainters.
What causes this phenomenon?
Perhaps our resident Scientist Alyson can explain the fanaticism of the screamer.
