Song For A Tweet: Annoying, Intrusive Idea, Are Attack, Attack Worth It? -By Helen Bach

There is an annoying trend going on in AltWorld.
See bands are streaming songs or videos but to access them you’re going to need to do them a favor.
“song for a tweet’ is a hot one.  Tweet band information and they’ll let you download a song for free.
Another obnoxious band told its facebook fans to invite everyone they knew to ‘like’ their page for a free ep.
Seriously?
I guess I can understand the mathematics of it. Makes sense.  Gain exposure and such.
It comes off a bit pathetic to me.  You’re really not turning your friends on to a band you think they would like, you’re actually spamming everyone you know for a song that’s going to be free in a day or so.
A semi slow teenage mind is going to think they’re office chair ‘street team’ I suppose,
 ‘helping’ the band.
I personally would never do that.
  Ever.
I find it annoying and crass and this leads me to the band Attack Attack.
I have to say musically I am a fan, personally my encounters with them has left much to be desired.
This latest ‘stunt’ as I call it is pathetic.  “Smokeahontis” is a video all the cool kids have been waiting for. Fantastic song..
Release a teaser of your video BUT if I tweet it or ‘like’ them on Facebook I can get the whole thing!
Really not that big a deal.  A pocket full of die hards may do it- but I wouldn’t in a million years.
For the record I was sent the video.  I watched it and I wont post it here, cuz as pathetic as the plea is from the band to do this is as arrogant as I am for not leaking the video.
Let the children play.
Oh, and they aint Alesana but nice job trying.
