OK, I Got It Wrong: "Rainbows In Gasoline" Is Pretty Fantastic

I am seconds away from buying The Ghost A Saber Tooth Tiger’s first album. Why? I mean after spending two days laughing at em, why? Because despite the crap name of the song, “Rainbows In Gasoline” is a weirdly beautiful number  with a superb lyric that pulls me up.
A slide guitar draws you in and it whinges and winds itself round your brain. If you are really sick, as I am right now, it seems to bring its own echo, it stutters you outward.
Ps? This is the second time I’ve taken Lennon seriously.
The thing with Lennon is his concerns are not ours: he intersects from time to time, but, he is not needy. Not even emotionally, or drug addictedly, or financially, which come on, we spend our lives worrying on.
So there is a disconnect.
This song, he sounds nasally deep, he sounds removed and into it at the same time, like there is something important being said but what precisely?
Well, maybe i doesn’t matter.
Maybe it is life style as performance art.
So, anyway, I slammed the song the other day but it is a beautiful thing and I was wrong.
